TFPA - Music Won't Save Your Soul

Front insert

About this album, copied from my old GeoCities web site:

Thirty-Four Percent Acrylic formed in early 1996, when a group of fellow ninth graders asked me to be the lead guitarist in their band. These guys, whom I have gotten to know and love, are Chad Hanna, Mike Shimek, and Josh Milligan. One year later, when we were all fifteen (except me--I had just turned sixteen), we decided it was time to record our first album, Music Won't Save Your Soul. So we owned, rented, and borrowed a total of about $25,000 worth of equipment and set it all up in Chad’s basement. After two weeks of nearly taking each other’s heads off, or actually just pretending to be mad at our sound guy/trombonist Chris Elverson, the sounds were all laid out on the Roland VS-880. And it took the next few weeks to mix the whole album. However it took the next year to start distributing it because of laziness. But I think it went pretty well, for our first time ever attempting anything like it. I’d even say it sounds great, for an album made entirely by tenth graders.

Liner Notes

These are from the "remastered" version. The original CD had all the lyrics, too. (These are the highest resolution scans I could find...)
